i'm finally getting some small projects finished up, so i thought i would put the ukulele away for a couple of hours and sit down and draw something fun... just for me. i would like to improve upon my pen and ink, portraiture, and crosshatching/shading skills, and this was a good way to practice all three.
jack kerouac was one of my favorite writers in high school, and i just think he is dreamy as a young man. there are some things i don't like about the portrait, it's kind of heavy handed, but a good start, and i think i learned quite a bit from it. pigma micron and india ink in sketchbook.
